For English readers: in case it's not clear, translation convention is in effect. They're not really speaking Afrikaans, that's just the language that the comic is in. Please keep that in mind ;)

?: Where are you going, then? There's got to be a story behind that interesting costume ...

@Wolfie_Inu: An interesting costume indeed! XD

She would be a real hit at furry conventions. Until she starts murdering people. :P

I kind of like the idea of science fiction in a foreign language. From my perspective, It gives it an off world flavor. While I'm I'm not interested in learning to speak a foreign language at the moment, it's always fun to experience new things. I'm greatly appreciative of the translations that are provided in this comic.

@Lavabat: Eh, I'm sure there are some people who'd be into getting killed by a furry femme fatale. There are people who like getting eaten, so let's not underestimate the power of crazy, especially at a furry con ;)

@GabrielsThoughts: Glad you appreciate it :) The reason why I brought up the Translation Convention was just to preempt people who might be wondering why people in Japan are speaking Afrikaans. The answer is that they're not; they're speaking Japanese, but we see it as Afrikaans because that's the language that the comic is in. I was originally going to throw that fact into the dialog or a thought bubble (Jane wondering why she would be hearing intelligible Japanese on Atlantis 10 000 years later) but couldn't find a way to make the conversation steer naturally into this topic. So here I am explaining it in unnecessary detail instead.

I also thought of putting Japanese dialog in <foreign language brackets>, but that's usually only used when someone is being excluded from a conversation because other characters are conversing in a language that not all members of the present company can understand. Take TwoKinds, for instance; lately, the dialog uses <foreign language brackets> only when the conversation inconveniences Natani, who doesn't understand the human language. However, the dialog appears as English regardless of the language being spoken, if only one language is being spoken in a given conversation.

@Wolfie_Inu: I just *know* there would be people who'd be into getting killed by a furry femme fatale at a furry con. Which would make her want to kill all Om-Ankh even more! Along the lines of "they are not just monsters, they are perverted monsters!" o_O (from Jane's perspective)

Some people are crazy...

And she is taking this pretty well so far...especially when she is unlikely to be unarmed.

EDIT: I also really like the tail slit on Jane's clothing! That would work so much better than a hole or anything else. +1 billion points your you! :)
