Om-Ankh 1: Well, *something* happened ... our local contacts have fled ...
Om-Ankh 2: Wait! ... Do you hear something?
[sound of grenades being fired]

[Mere minutes later ...]
Jane: (thinks) Well, that was easy. Sixteen shots, twenty targets eliminated ... they were so predictable ...

Those poor stormtroopers. On the other hand they were zombies, so let's thank Wilhelm for his magnificent scream and move on.

@GabrielsThoughts: Ha! Wilhelm scream FTW. :D Have you seen the compilation video on youtube?

Wait, they were zombies? That's news to me ...

To be a zombie, death is not required. Look at the Stepford wives. Although, I suppose, puppets would have been a more accurate statement. The reverse/ inverse eyeball color is used to identify zombies in Naruto Shippuden.

@Wolfie_Inu: What the heck is that thing the Om-Ankh came out of? A prefabricated and preassembled settlement or something?

And someone seems disappointed that the Om-Ankh are so predictable. >:3

Of course they're predictable. They're supposedly human beings, aren't they?. Not to mention the aliens are, or at least appear, canine in origin and as such they have a well documented psycho-sociological structure that humans later adopted aspects of. I'd actually be surprised if they didn't react predictably.

@Lavabat: Exactly. It's a pre-assembled supply base or something that can be shipped to wherever it's required. Inspired by a similar and now-defunct German project called CargoLifter, which planned to ship small pre-assembled clinics to various parts of Africa using a large dirigible.

Re: disappointment. Heh. Yeah, I think Jane wanted a challenge ...

@GabrielsThoughts: I understand what you mean, but they're not programmed. Apologies if the implication wasn't clear on my part. If someone's programming has been triggered, I indicate that by giving them black speech bubbles with white text. Also I was unaware of the Naruto/zombie thing ... great, now I look even more derivative of anime :P

Re: predictability, Jane is so awesome with tactics and physics and so on by this time, 10,000 years later, that she probably finds all possible courses of action predictable, regardless of psychology. She's an amazing tactician but doesn't really have people skills, having been alone in a box for a few millennia and all. That said, regarding human/Om-Ankh and Khanite psychology, they are very similar and you're touching on a point that's very relevant to future plot development. I won't say more because of spoilers, but you're definitely thinking along significant lines there :)
