Louwrens: So ... you look basically just like me, except for ... / um ... the, uh ...
Alex: Yes, because apparently we have identical genes ... except that one of your chromosomes has a leg missing ... / Shame, man!*

Louwrens: What?! ... How did something like that happen?
Alex: I don't know! I was hoping you could tell me ...
Louwrens: Now how am I supposed to know that?
Alex: Well, it probably depends on how you got here ...
Louwrens: ... what do you mean?

Alex: All right then ... alea iacta est ... / ... how did you get here from the planet Atlantis ... which is known to its current inhabitants as the planet Earth?
Louwrens: Can it be?! So ... you are a ...

*: "Shame" is an English loan word which, in Afrikaans, is a general expression of sympathy, but is also used of cute things. For example, if you see a puppy or a baby, "shame" is an appropriate response. Nobody knows why.
Alea iacta est: My characters seem to be up on their Latin for no apparent reason. I have no excuse for this.

Ain't that a shame... I know Cognito est oto, E pluribus unum, Quid pro quo... Vini vidi vicci/visa and a handful of scientific animal names in latin. Mia culpa, "Alea iacta est" isn't among the latin phrases that I am familiar with so I looked it up... "The die is cast."

I'm quite shocked actually, I live in Nevada, arguably the gambling capital of the world, and I never heard that one before. You have enlightened me, it is only natural that I return the favor...

I know "honky tonk" is derived from African words that mean "pink shack."

Thank you for updating. I enjoy your story very much.

@GabrielsThoughts: Hehe, thanks ^^

Apparently the die that is cast, in the expression, refers to the kind of die you use to cast metal objects. When you initially make the die, you cast it around an example of the object you want the die to create. When the die has been cast, you have no choice but to wait for it to cool to see how it turns out. If it cracks during cooling, you may need to throw it out, which would be a great financial loss especially in Roman times.

@GabrielsThoughts: Hehe, thanks. It's a resampled recolor of Rif from the "Inherit the Earth" game. Because the South African flag I was using before was on a server somewhere and seems to be gone now ...

Enthusiastic ...about the story line. Very coherent. Often ends in a cliff-hanger after only 3 frames and still wending its way to an unpredictable solution. Looking forward to every new delivery. My most sincere compliments.
