Louwrens is immuun teen ironie.

Terloops, die musiek waarna Louwrens luister is "Wilder as die Wildtuin" deur Die Heuwels Fantasties. Hulle is awesome.

Louwrens is immune to irony.

Also, the music Louwrens is listening to is "Wilder as die Wildtuin" ("Wilder than the Nature Reserve") by Die Heuwels Fantasties. They are awesome.

Freddie: Dude, it's awesome, huh? Just one more exam, then Grade 11 is over and then it's summer!
Louwrens: For you, maybe! I still have Science!*
Freddie: Oh, sorry! I forgot ... tough luck, man! / Now then, here's that cherry's** house ...
Louwrens: Psh! Whatever. See you later.

Louwrens: Freddie and his dress-chasing ... oh well, you're only young once ... / ... darn ear- ... thingy! Stay where I put you! If you keep falling out of my ear, I can't hear my music ...

?: There he is ... get the chloroform ready ...

*: "Skeinat" = "Natuur- en Skeikunde" = "Natural Science and Chemistry". This is the generic "science" subject in high school in South Africa.

**: "cherry" = "cherie" = "girl"

I find it interesting that signs are printed in english, because it doesn't appear to be the native or localized language.

Weer 'n wending! Koel! You don't cease to surprise us.

@GabrielsThoughts: This is South Africa, after all... we have 11 official languages, of which one is English (it's common on signs because everyone speaks it to some degree). And all newer Fords have that notice on the mirror. Up until this point I had most signs in Afrikaans (which was fitting in those settings), but it's also appropriate for these specific ones to be in English. Armed Response signs and Ford rearview mirror notices are usually in English anyway ^.^

@HNTh: Dankie! Ek's bly as die boom se spesie ten minste identifiseerbaar is :)

You know, this brings up some interesting theories about Lawrence's true appearance. Were this adapted into a live action version would he be like a grey? alien space wolf? monstrous by human standards? Extra terrestrial or extranormal?

Reply Wolfie_Inu, June 6th, 2012, 4:33 pm

@GabrielsThoughts: Well, I don't think he'd be monstrous, but being dog-like yet sapient, he'd probably fall smack bang in the middle of Uncanny Valley. Kind of like those Toyota Hilux ads with the talking dog (don't know if they're international). It's a bit freaky, though you'd probably get used to it in a few days at most.

@Wolfie-DMX: Dankie man! Bly jy lees nog lekker saam! :)
