Die meisie is Jane Onoda van vroeƫr, ingeval iemand gewonder het.
En o ja, haar naam. Aanvanklik het ek gedink dat ek 'n groot flater begaan het deur haar 'n naam en van in Westerse volgorde te gee. Maar blykbaar is die huidige skema waarvolgens die Japannese hulself noem (van eerste, naam tweede) eers onlangs in die tyd van die Meiji ('n tipe revolusie) as die standaardvorm erken. Voorheen het party mense hulself as "X, seun/dogter van Y" identifiseer. Dus is Jane se naam nie onmoontlik nie. 10 000 jaar gelede het die proto-Japannese in elk geval nie eens 'n Keiser gehad nie, laat staan nog die Meiji :P

The girl is Jane Onoda from earlier, in case anybody was wondering.
And oh yeah, her name. Originally I thought I'd committed a huge blunder by giving her name a Western order. But apparently the current scheme according to which the Japanese name themselves (surname first, name second) was only recently recognized as the standard form in the time of the Meiji Restoration. Previously some people would identify themselves as "X, son/daughter of Y". Therefore Jane's name is not impossible. 10,000 years ago the proto-Japanese didn't even have an Emperor anyway, let alone Meiji :P
